πŸ“Sentence BuddiesπŸ“

These are our radical sentence buddies. I did it a tad different this year and I like the change. The cap (headgear) “c” stands for the capital letter at the beginning of a sentence (the students are to color the capital letter red just like the cap’s C. The body of the buddy is where the students are implementing their knowledge and practice of each punctuation (. ! ?) and they must write one sentence using each of the ending punctuation marks. On the arms they are highlighted two different colors. One is for the noun, and the other color is for the verbs within each of the sentences they have created . The students will then use the colors they chose (I used green and yellow for my nouns and verbs) and those are the colors they must color the nouns and verbs within their sentences….along with writing those nouns on the noun arm, the verbs on the verb arm. The feet are our final task and they are colored purple (or the kids choice) and those must be colored the same color for their ending punctuation. This helps the student break apart a sentence and then put it back together. Β They loved making the buddies look like their friends and some even made it look like themselves. The creativity of first grade is beyond ADoRAblE! I hope this helps give another outlook on writing sentences for some darling boys and gals.πŸ’‘βœοΈ HAPPY writing!!βœοΈπŸ’‘
