πŸ› πŸ–ŠOur 5w’sπŸ–Šβš’

We are adding another tool to our reading/writing inventory of knowledge! We have consistently been working on our 5w’s (who what when where why –also main idea). This helps make the connections to our stories and internalizes the “summarization” process of learning. The students sing a 5w’s song with me and use our hand as our “five W’s”, circling our palm for the main idea. They tell their partners the summary of a story using their (and the paper one listed below) hand and apply it to their writing as an organization aspect as well. So we color, cut, glue and practice this hand input our precious anchor charts blog I posted in the past! Woo woo! Hope this helps! Have I mentioned I lπŸ’—ve first grade?πŸ˜‹Β
