Time, time, time has been our area of learning for the week. For first grade it is hour and half hour. Instead of using the same mini clocks I have to practice our “o’clock and thirty”, I wanted a deeper hands on experience that would stay in the kids brain. That’s when the creations of making our own clocks with moving hands came into play. When I teach hour and half hour it is taught as , mama minute and baby hour. Mama always lets baby hour go first because he is younger and littler. Also, when discussing minutes we go “back, back, back to the smaller number” if mama minute is stuck in between two numbers on the clock. The only time this can’t apply is between the 12, and the 1. We can still go back but 12 would not be the smaller number.

May this be a happy “time” of learning!
