It’s time to start drafting! And our class is not talking about football. It’s all about the “NVSP” (noun, verb, sentence, punctuation). And the students are on a mission to help themselves and others edit their work. So after good purchases and finds at Walmart and hobby lobby for cheap hats and masks it made it happen easily. I wrote “editor” upon the hats and let them run with it. Their soul purpose of an editor is to look for three things, 1)Capitals and beginning of the sentences and proper nouns (this includes upper case I’s when by themselves), 2) Spaces in between the words and 3) correct usage of punctuation within the sentences. This is a job the kids receive once they finish their own work, edit their own, then they are allowed to edit others with kind words of suggestion and inspiration by using constructive criticism. Looking for their three “missions” within the sentences.
The kids had a hoot wearing the hats and feeling like a “boss”. It empowers them to use self-correction, and enables them to pinpoint others work through reading, visuals and reflection!
Room 219, has done it again! Happy editing!!!✅❓❗️🚫❌⭕️💯✅
