πŸ”†βŒ›οΈMy “Caddy” CentersβŒ›οΈπŸ”†

I have been brainstorming to come up with a more creative and organized way to present my centers in the morning. My solution is “center caddy’s”. I tried it this morning with six preterminded centers and had them all by my teacher chair. I introduced each center by simply pulling out the caddy and showing the class and modeling the center. This made it so much easier and time efficient for me to present instead of hopping around the room from center to center showing the class how and what to do. For example, one center was letters memory matching; Another being synonym exploration, sightword reading, picture walks, dry erase writing with dry erase markers right inside etc. Then I would call the groups I wanted together, give them their caddy and tell them which area they would be going around the room (I have each area I use color coded and numbered). When the 15 minutes were up, I blow my whistle, give a minute for cleanup time (each item given being put back into their caddy), and then they  are ready to rotate clockwise. When all center time is completed, it was each groups responsibility to come back to the carpet when instructed with their neat and tidy caddys. When school is out I will create six new centers without running everywhere around the classroom. Boom bam boom. I don’t know if it helps you, but here are some images for clearer “visuals”. Happy center-ing!! Love , Mrs. Castlebury πŸ’•
